Angkatan Darat ke-40 (bahasa Rusia: 40-я общевойсковая армия, 40-ya obshchevoyskovaya armiya) dari Angkatan Darat Soviet adalah komando tingkat tentara yang berpartisipasi dalam Perang Dunia II dari tahun 1941 hingga 1945 dan direformasi secara khusus untuk Perang Soviet–Afganistan dari tahun 1979 hingga sekitar tahun 1990. Angkatan Darat menjadi inti untuk pasukan pendudukan Soviet (OKSVA) di Afganistan pada tahun 1980-an.
