Alicja Iwańska

Alicja Iwańska (juga dikenal sebagai Alicia Iwanska,13 Maret 1918 – 26 Desember 1996) adalah seorang sosiolog, akademisi, dan penulis dari Polandia .

Kehidupan pribadi

Alicja Iwańska lahir pada tanggal 13 Mei 1918 dari keluarga bangsawan yang tinggal di Gardzienice estate [pl], dekat Lublin, dari pasangan Stanisława Stachna (nama lahir Miłkowska) dan Jan Iwański.[1] Dia meninggal pada tanggal 26 September 1996 di London.[2]

Menyadari bahwa Perang Dunia II akan terjadi, Iwańska mengunjungi keluarganya di Wielkopolska untuk membangun sebuah tempat sebagai tempat persembunyian kebutuhan yang mungkin diperlukan selama konflik. Setelah tempat tersebut selesai dibangun, dia kembali ke Warsawa yang menjadi tempat tinggalnya. Selama di sana, dia bergabung dengan organisasi pemberontakan bernama Związek Walki Zbrojnej.[3] Dia bekerja dengan Wanda Piłsudska yang merupakan temannya selama belajar di gimnasium. Iwańska memiliki nama kode "Tupai" dan bekerja sebagai kurir. Dia bertugas juga menyampaikan pesan dari narapidana yang ditahan di Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Pawiak kepada keluarga mereka.[4]
