Albert Kalthoff

Albert Kalthoff (5 Maret 1850 di Barmen – 11 Mei 1906 di Bremen) adalah seorang teolog Protestan Jerman, yang bersama dengan Emil Felden (1874-1959), Oscar Mauritz (1867-1958), Moritz Schwalb (1833-1916) dan Friedrich Steudel (1866-1939) membentuk sebuah kelompok di Bremen, yang bernama Deutscher Monistenbund ([Jerman] Liga Monis) yang tidak mempercayai Yesus sebagai figur sejarah.

Kalthoff mengkritik apa yang ia anggap sebagai romantisis dan gambaran sentimental Yesus sebagai "personalitas besar" sejarah yang dikembangkan oleh teolog-teolog liberal Jerman, termasuk Albert Schweitzer yang dicatat Kalthoff dalam karyanya The Quest of the Historical Jesus.[1][2]
