Air India Penerbangan 855 adalah penerbangan penumpang terjadwal dari Bandara Santa Cruz, Bombay ke Bandar Udara Internasional Dubai, Dubai. Pada Hari Tahun Baru 1978, Boeing 747 yang mengoperasikan penerbangan itu jatuh sekitar 3 km (1,9 mi; 1,6 nmi) di lepas pantai Bandra, Bombay (sekarang Mumbai) . Semua 213 penumpang dan awak di dalamnya tewas. Investigasi kecelakaan menentukan kemungkinan penyebab yang paling mungkin adalah kapten menjadi disorientasi spasial setelah kegagalan salah satu instrumen penerbangan di kokpit. Itu adalah kecelakaan pesawat paling mematikan Air India sampai pengeboman Penerbangan 182 pada tahun 1985. Itu juga kecelakaan penerbangan paling mematikan di India sampai Charkhi Dadri mid-air collision pada tahun 1996. Pesawat tersebut sedang dalan perjalanan dari Bombay ke Dubai dan telah bersiap untuk lepas landas.
